Think of it as an alternative to the stock market or other places your IRA money currently resides.  When you buy real estate with your IRA, all the net revenues from rental income and any property appreciation all grow within your IRA – without taxation until withdrawal.

Can I buy a property if my IRA isn't big enough?
Yes, in many instances, your IRA can borrow the funds.
